We knew going into the bowl games that TCU was better than Alabama and Texas. Those of us who actually watch the game, have an IQ, and pay attention could easily see the difference between the Horned Frogs and the lesser undefeated programs.

What we didn't know was that Boise State was even better. Yes, the Broncos completely shut down the PAC-10 champ. Yes, the PAC-10's 6th place team beat the Big Ten champ on the road. There were signs of how good BSU may be. But we didn't know until they beat TCU just how "for real" they were.

BOISE STATE- THE BEST TEAM IN THE NATION!!!

TCU- Only second best. Maybe next year.

Boise State and TCU should be #1 and #2 in the nation to start the 2010. BSU returns 21 of 22 starters, while TCU returns 17 of 21. Who cares about the rest of the Top 25- There's no real competition out there. Expect these two programs to play a bowl against each other for the 3rd season in a row- This time for the fictional "BCS" championship.

I'd laugh at the above comments if I didn't some how feel sorry for you and your obvious disconnect with reality. Did you actually watch the Fiesta Bowl? You did? Then you must have been one of the 50 who did. Because that game sucked. Yes TCUs defense played well. Yes Boise St. played inspired football. But it took a fake punt late in the fourth quarter to give either team any advantage. If Boise State held TCU to season lows in offense, what do you think Alabama and Texas defense (who played more quality opponents) would have done to them?

The MWC does not deserve an automatic BCS birth. Here's hoping the powers that be don't succumb to the pressure to let these "feel good stories" make things even worse and more muddled.

Good one, SEC retard- The Fiesta Bowl had a hell of a lot more viewers than the Orange Bowl. But why discuss numbers in the millions when you can't count past the number of fingers you have (which is sadly 9)?

It also had two teams better than either of those in the Alabama-Texas joke of a game.

Idiocy. Lunacy. Moronic. Mountain West in-bred thinking. However you wish to look at. Alabama or Texas would have crushed Boise or TCU. If those two teams are so good, they need to get out of the Mountain West and play the leve of talent teams in the SEC, Big 12 ply week in and out. Until they do, they are jokes.

So true bull, the mwc [ mountain womens conference] couldn't beat troy this year most less the tide. Alabama would do exactly what you said, crush tcwho or boise. Eldermars is just a eight year old dreaming the dream. Bama fans have nothing to do but sit back and bask in the glory for another year. Elderidiot this is for you, let me introduce to you, your THIRTEEN TIME NATIONAL CHAMPION ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE. and remember ROLL DAMN TIDE

Sadly enough, you are right BSU and TCU are not at the level of Alabama-Florida, nor are there conferences...so there is no real competition out there.

Quote:
Unlike last year, when the SEC barely edged out the Big 12 for supremacy, its overall average of +11.58 easily outdistanced the Big Ten (-.18) and Big East (-4.62), followed by the ACC (-16.75), Big 12 (-17.83), Mountain West (-22.67), Pac-10 (-23.80), WAC (-41.22), Conference USA (-64.25), Mid-American (-66.92) and the Sun Belt (-67.33).

The huge gap between the SEC and the rest of the country fell right in line with the separation between Alabama’s top power ranking of +135, easily trumping runner-up Boise State (+92). It was the largest margin of victory over the No. 2 team in the history of the T-U rankings. Texas and TCU finished tied for third with a +84, followed closely by Florida (+82) and Ohio State (+81).

In the conference rankings, the SEC easily had the highest non-league winning percentage (.787) against Football Bowl Subdivision teams with a 37-10 record, including a 6-5 mark against Top 25 teams outside its own league.

While only the MWC finished with a better bowl record 4-1.

The SEC is a joke. Utah proved that- EASILY. Even Wyoming, one of the worst teams in our conference, has gone on the road and smacked around some of your pathetic little nobodies lately (Tennessee and Miss State).

Dear Lord!!! Can we move on past Utah's "domination" of Alabama two years ago? Nobody remembers or cares (except perhaps crazed BYU fans somewhere in the middle of no where Utah!!). Every conference has a weak link....ACC has Duke. Big Twelve has Baylor, SEC has Vandy, and the Mountain West has...well....everyone except TCU.

Match this year's Alabama to this Utah and it's no contest. Or this year's TCU, or Boise St. Motivation plays such a large factor that sometimes talent can be trumped. That is what happen to Utah and Bama in 2009. Utah wanted to be there and was grateful for the opportunity. Bama had grander things in mind and could have cared less to be in the Sugar Bowl.

I say again, until TCUs or Boise's or BYUs or any of those mid conference wanna a bes start playing the same schedule as Alabama or Florida or Texas, then they won't be taken seriously. As it should be.

Alabama would not have beat TCU or Boise State last year, and thus they can't be considered true national champs. They couldn't compete on the field with the MWC champ the year before either. Winning a weak SEC and then paying the BCS to avoid undefeated competition is not respectable, it's cowardly. The SEC could push for a Playoff anytime, but they don't because they are scared- they know it would expose them. They don't need to be the best, they just need enough voters to pretend they are.

Boise State #1
TCU #2
Alabama #3

What happened the last time Boise played an SEC team?

Oh and, last years strength of schedule according to the NCAA:
Alabama - 2
Boise St - 81

Boise's competition had a COMBINED LOSING RECORD.

The last time Boise played a SEC team was 2005 and they got CRUSHED by Georgia in Athens 48-13. Funny, I remember all the "experts" saying that was a trap game for UGA. All Shockley did was throw for 5 TDs that game I believe. Way to represent BSU!!

This....

I was gonna post it, but I figured I'd let a UGA fan get the glory.
